This pendant by artist Kendria Thompson of Solid Treasures is a one-of-a-kind creation that reflects her approach to metalsmithing and lapidary work. Custom completed in November 2017, this pendant features a 30.6 carat round Whitewater turquoise stone as its focal point. Above the turquoise sits an east–west set cabochon, echoed again on the bail with a matching stone; these accent stones appear to be hematite with a marbled effect. All stones are bezel set with fine tooth edges, while the scalloped silver setting is adorned with a mix of stamped and round raindrops that soften the bold design. The generously sized bail is ideal for multi-strand necklaces or beads up to 16mm. The back is stamped K. THOMPSON 925 and 999, indicating a blend of sterling and fine silver. Measuring just over 3.5 inches long including the bail and weighing 48 grams, this pendant is both sculptural and deeply expressive.
