Deep Six DEEP SIX CD Rare Japanese Edition with Commentary, Lyrics, and Obi

“Deep Six” is a compilation album released in March 1986 (recorded in 1985).
It features songs from six grunge bands that were active in the 1980s.
Deep Six is a legendary record, considered one of the earliest and most important in the Seattle music scene and in the history of "grunge."
Originally released on vinyl.
It was the first release by C/Z Records, with a catalog number of CZ01, and only 2,000 copies were pressed.

A Japanese CD version was also released when it was reissued on CD in 1994.
It is now out of print and difficult to obtain even as an import, but Japanese versions with an obi are rarely seen.

This is a work from the earliest Seattle scene/grunge scene.
It features bands that would become the driving forces of the grunge movement, such as Soundgarden in their original lineup, Melvins, Skin Yard, Green River (whose members later split into two bands, Pearl Jam and Mudhoney), and Malfunkshun (the band of Andrew Wood, who later formed Mother Love Bone).
Also, at the time, 13 of the 14 tracks were unreleased, and the rough recording quality due to the low budget is also one of its charms.
