This marvelous antique hand-colored copper plate engraving is Plate No. 603, the Sweet Scented Pothos (Pothos Cannefolia), from an 1802 issue of the famed Curtis Botanical Magazine published in London by Thomas Curtis. The illustrator was Sydenham Edwards and the engraver was F. Sansom. The paper is 5.3" x 9" and the plate size is 4.75" x 7.75". Text page is included matted and plastic sealed.

The bottom caption reads:

> The first 30 volumes of Curtis Botanical Magazine, originally titled simply The Botanical Magazine, used copper plate engravings. One volume was issued per year and consisted of 12 monthly issues, each with 3 plates. Sydenham Edwards and James Sowerby were early illustrators for the magazine, which published what was often the first authoritative botanical description of a particular plant species.
