Antique Chinese export oval box attributed to Sing Fat (勝發), a noted Canton/Hong Kong workshop active in the late Qing to early Republic era. The lid and inner lid are worked in crisp repoussé peony with a fine textured ground and Greek key / leiwen borders. Small rectangular hallmark with the characters 勝發 to the base.
Hinge sound; opens/closes properly.
Metal tests non-magnetic likely silvered brass. Gentle age wear, light surface marks, and patina consistent with period; presents beautifully. A quality example of early 20th-century Canton/Hong Kong export work.
